Whatever the holiday may be, end of the year celebrations give us a chance to reflect, forgive, and refresh for the new year. When it comes to flowers, we love the chance to play with all the seasonal items and accessories to make your holiday arrangements even more special. I especially like using pinecones and ornaments within the arrangements to make them a bit more festive. Below are a few arrangements well suited for these end of year celebrations.
Pastel Holiday
With some of our favorite flowers nestled in a bed of pine greenery, this arrangement really nails it for the holidays. The great part about this greenery is that it isn’t as delicate and flaky as the pine from a Christmas tree, so it won’t make much of a mess. Firs are known for their flat leaves, which are less prone to shedding when they begin to dry out. I love the way it looks pressed and flattened in between the fluffy bulbs of hydrangeas.
White Christmas
This arrangement was by far one of our most popular pieces this time last year, and it's easy to see why. The pine cones, frosted greenery, and white hydrangeas conjure up the most serene winter wonderland scene. Simple and sweet, this arrangement is perfect for lots of different occasions during the winter season. The classic combination of white and green is often referred to being neutral in the floral world, so no need to worry about clashing with your host’s decor.
Arctic Roses
Another classic, this arrangement is full of premium roses and more of that lovely fir. We’ve constructed this arrangement in a wooden vase, but these roses pair well with a variety of vases and colors. Arctic roses aren’t pure white, which is why we like them. They tend to have a tinge of color in the center or on the tips of the petals. The variation in color makes each iteration of this arrangement that much more special.
First Frost
One of our front runners for this season’s holiday samples, “First Frost” is full of vibrant blues and purples that pop against creamy white roses. Technically the hyacinths in this arrangement are purple, but when matched with these hydrangeas their blue hue really stands out. We’ve dressed this arrangement up for the holidays, but without the ornaments and frosted greenery, I think this piece would be a hit all year round.
